The Econometric Society is pleased to announce that the 2026 Asian Summer School in Econometrics and Statistics of the Econometric Society will be held at University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, July 13-19, 2026.

The Summer School is a collaborative effort by the following prestigious institutions:

· School of Economics and Management, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences

· Center for Forecasting Science, Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences

· Paula and Gregory Chow Institute for Studies in Economics, Xiamen University

· Institute for Advanced Economic Research, Dongbei University of Finance and Economics

The program is primarily aimed at young faculty members and Ph.D. students in related fields. Lectures will be held in person.

· Zhipeng Liao, University of California, Los Angeles

· Whitney Newey, Massachusetts Institute of Technology

All lectures will be conducted in English. The topics covered will include, but are not limited to, time series econometrics, panel data analysis, machine learning, and causal inference. In addition to the lectures, we will organize a workshop where a selected group of students can present their research in English.

The application portal will open on March 1, 2026. Please submit your application by May 28, 2026.

During the Summer School, we will organize a workshop where a selected group of students can present their research. If you would like to participate in the workshop, please upload your paper.

All applicants must be members of the Econometric Society at the time of application. To join, please visit http://www.econometricsociety.org. Admission decisions will be announced around June 10, 2026, and you will be notified individually.

Registration Fee and Living Cost

There is no registration fee for the Summer School. Participants are responsible for their own living expenses, including travel, accommodation, and meals, during the event.
