International Experience on Development and LIS Workshop

The International Experience on Development and LIS Workshop will bring together leading scholars, early-career researchers, and policy practitioners to share cutting-edge research on household microdata, income and consumption inequality, and policy analysis using the Luxembourg Income Study (LIS) database and related datasets, including Chinese microdata.


The conference will feature:

1. Introduction to LIS Data – A comprehensive overview of 700+ household surveys from over 52 countries.

2. Research Activities Utilizing LIS Data – Recent global research highlights and methodological advances.

3. Selected Research Papers – Contributions from scholars and PhD students employing LIS, Chinese, and other microdata.

4. Policy Implications – Case studies demonstrating how diverse datasets inform economic and social policy.

5. Chinese Data Presentations – On-site and online sessions on Chinese household surveys and data resources.

6. Press Release – Launch of the Chinese Household Consumption Report, a joint project with Alibaba’s Ant Institute.
