The Econometric Society is pleased to announce that the ‘’Summer School in Economerics and Statistics of the Econometric Society’’ will be held at Xiamen University, Xiamen, China, July 2-8, 2019. The Summer School is organized by the Gregory and Paula Chow Center for Economic Research and the Wang Yanan Institute for Studies in Economics, Xiamen University, and the School of Economics, Dongbei University of Finance and Economics.

Preliminary list of the invited lecturers (in alphabetical order):

 All lectures are conducted entirely in English. Topics that would be covered in lectures include:

• Econometrics of Time-varying Models and Forecasts

• Economic and Financial Data Analysis and Evaluation in A Big Data Era

• Program Evaluation and Panel Data Analysis

• Spatial Econometrics Models---Model Specification and Estimation

• Design of Computer Experiment/Simulation

• Non-parametric and Semi-parametric Econometrics with Applications.

• Econometric Analysis of Stochastic Dominance: Tools, Extensions and Applications

   

In addition to lectures, we will organize workshops where a selected group of participating students can present their research in English.

Application portal would be open from March 31, 2019. Interested students can fill in applications at https://conf.xmu.edu.cn/summerschool2019/ before May 31, 2019. An applicant must be a member of Econometric Society at the time of application. To join the Econometric Society, please visit http://www.econometricsociety.org. Admission decisions will be announced around June 6, 2019 and will be notified individually.

Registration fee and living cost

There is no registration fee for the Summer School. We will provide a welcome dinner for all participants of the Summer School. Other than that, participating students are responsible for their own living costs (e.g., travel, housing and food) during the Summer School.
