Conference on Empirical Macroeconomics
Call for Papers
Background
Empirical macroeconomics provides a quantitative understanding of the aggregate economy and its behavior while aiming to strike a balance between data and theory. On the one hand, empirical research based on micro data provides stylized facts and parameter identification basis for quantitative analysis based on macro structure models; on the other hand, macro quantitative analysis emphasizing micro foundations provides a theoretical framework for analyzing mechanism transmission and welfare evaluation for micro empirical research. The convergence of micro foundations and macro quantitative analysis will promote the development of macroeconomics.
We are going to hold the conference on empirical macroeconomics with Professor Thomas Sargent as our keynote speaker. The conference aims to promote our understanding of the aggregate economy from the micro-founded perspective. It will be held on Dec. 14, 2023, at the Paula and Gregory Chow Institute for Studies in Economics (Chow Institute), Xiamen University.
